Aphididae : Phloeomyzinae

The subfamily Phloeomyzinae consists of just one species, characterized by alates that are exclusively sexual and parthenogenetic forms exclusively apterous.
The antennae are short with processus terminalis very short. There are no secondary rhinaria on the antennae.
The cornicles are round but hardly visible.
The abdomen is characterized by the presence of wax glands, which makes colonies easy to see on poplars.
The life cycle takes place only on poplar trees.
This aphid causes severe damage in poplar groves.
