Diptera : Cecidomyiidae

Cecidomyiidae

Aphidoletes is a genus of predatory Diptera of the Cecidomyiidae family, whose larvae prey essentially on Acari and the aphids found on fruit trees, vine, large-scale crops, vegetable and ornamental crops.

Aphidoletes are Cecidomyiidae encountered sporadically in Europe, North America and Asia. Contrary to other species of that family, they do not induce damage by gall formation on leaves.
