Subfamily : Aphidinae

Genus characterized by highly developed frontal tubercles.

The species migrate from Prunus sp (primary host) to a very wide range of plant families as secondary host.

The alates of these species are characterized by the presence of a dorsal patch.

The genus is divided into subgenera, juged by distinguishing features in the cornicles:

  • Myzus (Myzus): cornicles straight
  • Myzus (Nectarosiphon): cornicles swollen
  • Myzus (Sciamyzus): cornicles swollen and cauda with a slight constriction
