This genus is largely represented in the Palaearctic zone with around 100 species.

The species live especially on Fabaceae, some others being frequent on Rosaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Asteraceae.

The morphs of this genus are characterized by long antennae; cornicles straight, fine, long and light-coloured; cauda well developed.
