Data base

Data base

Information on genomes are diverse, complex and numerous. It is necessary to develop data bases to store, order and make public the different genomic resources. AphidBase is the official repository for the aphid genomic resources, including all the available genomes for aphids and related species, including parasitoids.
This database proposes visualization of sequenced, assembled ad annotated genomic portions. It contains as well the position of predicted genes and their proteins, repeats and transposons, and the different transcripts (mRNA and non-coding RNAs) that have been identified in different biological conditions (organs, developmental stages, morphs…). Tools are available to search for specific sequences (using Blast) as well as links to other databases for orthologous sequences (Phylome DB) or metabolic pathways (AcypiCyc).

aphidbase

AphidBase offers to genomicists several tools: Jbrowse to visualise portions of the genome or genes of interest, Apollo for expert and manual annotation, Blast for sequence comparison, PhylomeDB for evolutionary approaches, AcypiCyc for modeling metabolic pathways, and GO as a standardized representation of genes and their predicted functions.
