Subfamily : Eriosomatinae

This genus comprises around 70 species distributed over the Northern Hemisphere.

In spring and early summer, colonies form galls on the leaves and petioles of Populus spp.

Some species migrate onto the roots of secondary hosts where colonies can survive under the anholocyclic mode.

The taxonomy of this genus is however difficult.
